Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ConstruTrack — the construction daily reporting app built for contractors, supervisors, and field crews.
General
What is ConstruTrack?
ConstruTrack is a construction daily reporting web app designed for contractors, supervisors, and subcontractors. It lets you capture work logs, time cards, photos, notes, and incidents from the field — then automatically generates branded PDF daily reports and emails them to your team or clients.
How is ConstruTrack different from Raken?
ConstruTrack is a focused, lightweight alternative to Raken. Where Raken can feel bloated and expensive for small contractors, ConstruTrack is designed to be fast, mobile-first, and affordable. The free plan covers solo contractors and small crews with no time limit. You get PDF generation, email delivery, photo documentation, work logs, and time cards — without paying for features you don't use.
Is ConstruTrack free?
Yes. ConstruTrack has a fully functional free plan that includes 1 project, daily reports, work logs, time cards, notes, incidents, up to 2 photos per report, PDF generation, and email delivery. The Pro plan adds unlimited projects and up to 10 photos per report.
What devices does ConstruTrack work on?
ConstruTrack is a web app that works on any device with a modern browser — iPhone, Android, tablet, laptop, or desktop. No download required. It's designed mobile-first, so the experience is optimized for use on a phone at the job site.
Do I need to install an app?
No. ConstruTrack runs entirely in the browser. Just go to the website, sign in with your Google account, and start reporting. On iPhone or Android you can add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.
Daily Reports
What is a construction daily report?
A construction daily report (also called a daily log or field report) is a record of everything that happened on a job site in a single day. It typically includes weather, work completed, workers on site, hours logged, photos, incidents, and notes. Daily reports protect you legally, keep owners informed, and create a paper trail for disputes.
What information can I include in a daily report?
Each ConstruTrack daily report can include: work logs (description, hours, worker count), individual time cards (worker name and hours), general notes, safety notes, quality notes, incidents and delays, and photos with captions. All of this is compiled into a single PDF.
Can I add photos to my daily reports?
Yes. You can upload photos directly from your phone or computer. ConstruTrack automatically compresses images before upload to save bandwidth. Photos are stored securely and included in the PDF report. Free plan supports up to 2 photos per report; Pro plan supports up to 10.
How do I generate a PDF report?
When you submit a daily report, ConstruTrack automatically generates a branded PDF. You can also download the PDF at any time from the report page using the Download PDF button. The PDF includes all work logs, time cards, photos, and notes.
Can I send daily reports by email automatically?
Yes. Each project has a Recipients settings page where you can add email addresses. When a report is submitted, ConstruTrack automatically emails the PDF to all project recipients. This is included in both the free and Pro plans.
How many photos can I attach per report?
The free plan supports up to 2 photos per daily report. The Pro plan supports up to 10 photos per report.
Can subcontractors submit their own reports?
Yes. ConstruTrack supports a collaborator role designed for subcontractors. Collaborators can submit their own trade reports, which are indexed into the master daily report for the project. They get free access — you don't need to pay for subcontractor seats.
Time Cards & Workers
How do I track worker hours?
Inside each daily report, you can add individual time cards — one per worker. Each time card records the worker's name and hours worked that day. This gives you a daily record of who was on site and for how long.
Can I log individual worker time cards?
Yes. Time cards are per-worker entries inside a daily report. You add a worker name and their hours for the day. There is no limit to the number of time cards per report on any plan.
How do I track total hours worked on a project?
Each daily report captures hours at the work log level (total hours for a task) and at the time card level (individual worker hours). Future versions of ConstruTrack will include project-level hours summaries and reports.
Projects
How many projects can I have?
The free plan allows 1 active project. The Pro plan allows unlimited projects.
How do I invite team members to a project?
Team member invitations are on the roadmap for an upcoming release. Currently, the owner creates the organization and manages projects. Collaborator (subcontractor) access is already supported.
Can clients view project progress?
A read-only client portal is planned for a future version. For now, clients receive submitted daily reports by email as PDF attachments — you add their email as a project recipient.

Comparisons
How does ConstruTrack compare to Raken?
Raken is a full-featured construction daily reporting platform with a broad feature set and enterprise pricing. ConstruTrack focuses on the core workflow — daily reports, photos, time cards, and PDF delivery — and is significantly more affordable. For small contractors and growing crews who don't need enterprise features, ConstruTrack is a faster, lighter Raken alternative.
How does ConstruTrack compare to Procore?
Procore is a comprehensive construction management platform covering project management, financials, BIM, and more. It's designed for large general contractors and enterprise teams, with pricing to match. ConstruTrack focuses specifically on daily field reporting — making it the right tool for crews who need a fast, simple daily log without the overhead of a full construction ERP.
How does ConstruTrack compare to Buildertrend?
Buildertrend is a residential construction management platform that covers scheduling, budgeting, and client communication. ConstruTrack is purpose-built for field daily reporting: capturing what happened on site today, logging worker hours, uploading photos, and generating a PDF. If daily reports are your primary need, ConstruTrack is simpler and more affordable.
Is ConstruTrack a good Raken alternative for small contractors?
Yes. ConstruTrack was built specifically with small contractors and field crews in mind. It's mobile-first, requires no training, and the free plan covers everything a solo contractor or small crew needs — daily reports, time cards, photos, and PDF delivery. You can be up and running in under 5 minutes.
What is the best free construction daily report app?
ConstruTrack offers one of the most complete free plans for construction daily reporting — including PDF generation, email delivery, work logs, time cards, photos, notes, and incidents, all at no cost. Unlike free tiers from larger platforms that expire after a trial period, ConstruTrack's free plan is permanent.
